How to prepare the quilt

1. Make sure your quilt top and back are square.

2. Seams on the quilt back should be pressed open and should not include the selvages. It is recommended that you use a 1/2” seam on the back.

3. Remove any loose threads.

4. Check your seams to make sure there are none that are open.

5. Your quilt back needs to be at least 3” larger all around (total 6” more than the length and the width of the quilt).

6. Iron your quilt top and back.

7. It is helpful if you stay stitch around the edge of the quilt top to prevent fraying from handling.

8. If your quilt top or backing is directional, indicate with a safety pin which edge is the top.

9. If the back is pieced, there is no guarantee that I can center the backing vertically or horizontally, although I will do my best.

Payment methods

We accept cash, major credit cards, PayPal and Venmo. Once your quilt is complete, you will receive an invoice by text or email. Payment is due in full before completed quilts will be delivered. Quilts must be paid for an picked up/delivered within 30 days from the invoice date.

Drop off / pick up

If you are local to Leland, NC, I can coordinate drop off or pick up dates and times for you to at my home studio. Alternately, you can mail your quilt tops, backing and batting, if you choose to supply your own, to me. I can provide you an estimate of the shipping cost to mail your quilt back to you once complete.

If there is any circumstance that would prevent you from paying for and taking delivery of your finished quilt within 30 days, please communicate with me. Any quilts that are not paid in that time and there is no communication after multiple attempts to reach you, your quilts may be sold. This is not a situation that anyone wants, so please communicate as soon as you know there is an issue.

Rush service

Nope….don’t offer it. I work on quilts on a first in / first out basis. It’s not fair to those in queue to wait for their quilts. If you have a deadline, please let me know and I’ll do my best to try to accommodate.

Commitment to your satisfaction

The best advertisement for a business is word of mouth. I want you to be satisfied with the results so that you bring more to us in the future and refer my work to your friends. If for any reason, you are not satisfied please talk to me and give me the opportunity to make it right. When I take in your quilt, I will look for any signs where there may be issues, such as full borders, loose seams or signs of wear. If I experience any issues during the quilting process, I will contact you and give you options how we can proceed.
